Vice President Supply Chain Strategy at Walmart

Edgar Blanco serves as the Vice President of Supply Chain Strategy at Walmart since March 2022, following significant roles at Amazon where Blanco was involved in various sustainability and logistics positions from 2017 to 2022. With a foundational career beginning in 1999, Blanco held managerial and technical roles at Bellsouth Telecommunications, Velant, and Retek before returning to Walmart as Senior Director of Logistics Strategy from 2015 to 2017. In academia, Blanco has contributed to the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics since 2005, taking on diverse roles including Research Affiliate, Principal Research Associate, and Executive Director of SCALE Latin America. Blanco's educational background includes a PhD and M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes.
