Gary Zhao

Gary Zhao is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in management consulting, strategy development, and investment leadership. Beginning as a Consultant at Booz & Company from March 2007 to May 2009, Gary progressed to significant roles including Head of Asia Pacific Strategy at DHL and Associate Director of Greater China Region Strategy at PepsiCo, where responsibilities encompassed corporate strategy and market intelligence for major brands. As President & Co-Chairman of Yuyuan Foods & Dining Group from January 2020 to February 2024, Gary managed a large team and oversaw the growth of established restaurant chains and food brands. Currently serving as SVP, COO of Hyper at Walmart China since May 2025, Gary holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Additionally, Gary's expertise extends to investment management as Chief Investment Officer at Yuyuan Inc under Fosun Group, where leadership in asset financing and strategy design has been pivotal.
