Sonya Hene

Sonya Hene is a seasoned real estate professional with extensive experience in leasing and portfolio management across several prominent companies. Currently serving as the Director of Portfolio Management for New Stores at Walmart since June 2024, Sonya previously held key roles at RPT Realty, including Senior Vice President - Leasing and Vice President of Leasing. Other notable positions include Director of Retail Leasing at Kitson & Partners, Store Development Manager at Starbucks, and Vice President/Leasing Director at Inland Commercial Real Estate Services, overseeing a substantial portfolio. Sonya's earlier career includes roles such as Real Estate Manager at The Home Depot and Director of Acquisitions at Kimball Hill Homes, complemented by foundational positions at Kmart Corporation, Urban Retail Properties, and Dominick's Finer Foods. Sonya holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from DePaul University.
