Established in 1975, it is the brainchild of Mr. Amardeep Patheja, a well experienced technocrat and a qualified mechanical engineer. The aim was to develop and manufacture Electromagnetic & Mechanical Clutches and Clutch Plates for Machine Tool application. 
A small seed planted in 1975 for developing and mfg of Electromagnetic & Mechanical Clutches and Brakes for the first time in India, has grown into a well established and highly successful industry. Backed by a highly qualified and efficient team of technocrats, Walpha is the first Indian Company to have successfully developed about 600 different types of Clutches, over 3000 types of Clutch Plates and 50 types of Current Supply Brushes. Itis well known for successfully import substituting multi-disc electromagnetic clutches and brakes. The company mfrs clutches eqvt to those mfd by Siemens, Moninghoff, Ortlinghaus, Binder Magnet, Heid, Stromag, Warner and various other makes. Walpha is also a leading mfr of Single Disc (Dry) Clutches & Brakes, Failsafe Brakes, Mechanical Clutches, Clutch Brake Combinations, Clutch Plates, Telescopic Brushes & Friction Material since over 35 years. 
Today, it’s expertise and experience spans over 3 decades, it is in a position to develop and manufacture any type of clutch/ brake and clutch plates used by the machine tool industry. Walpha is the original eqpmt splr for several machine tool mfrs like Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) speaks volumes of its quality assurance and reliability.
