Anders Öster is currently the Vice-Chair for the IRAG Ships & Shipping alignment group at WaterborneTP, where they coordinate research, development, and innovation matters. From 2003 to 2024, they served as General Manager of Research Coordination & Funding at Wärtsilä, leading various projects that garnered multiple European patents. Additionally, Anders was the Consortium Coordinator for the EU Horizon 2020 funded SeaTech project from 2020 to 2024. They also held the position of Chairman of the Steering Group in the Edge Public Project Research Consortium from 2018 to 2021, overseeing collaborations with numerous prominent research institutions and companies. Anders is pursuing a Master of Engineering in Autonomous Maritime Operations at Novia University of Applied Sciences, expected to conclude in 2024.
