David Matten is a Senior Bioinformatician at Watchmaker Genomics and has been in this role since 2022. They previously worked as a Bioinformatician at UCT from 2015 to 2022 and held the position of Director at clearSpark since 2012. Earlier in their career, David taught English in an elementary school in South Korea through the English Program In Korea (EPIK) from 2010 to 2011 and served as a Research Programmer at SACEMA from 2012 to 2014. David earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, completing their studies in 2011.
