Jonathan Chapman

Senior Specialist, Global Media at WaterAid

Jonathan Chapman started their work experience as a volunteer teacher at St Paul's School in Begusarai, Bihar, India in 1980. Jonathan then worked as a reporter at the Southern Daily Echo from 1984 to 1987. After that, they were a reporter at the Press Association from 1987 to 1990. From 1992 onwards, they worked at BBC News in various roles such as producer, Europe producer, senior broadcast journalist, newsgathering assignment editor, and Africa Bureaux Editor. Their most recent role was Senior Specialist, Global Media at WaterAid, starting in August 2019.

Jonathan Chapman attended Uppingham School from 1974 to 1979, where they earned 3 A'Levels in English, French, and History. Following their secondary education, they enrolled at the University of Birmingham in 1980 and graduated in 1983 with a B.Com degree in Commerce. In 1983-1984, they pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd.
