Lucy Flaws has relevant work experience in various roles and organizations. Lucy started their career in 2006 as a French Translator for Claire's Inc. Lucy then joined the Improvement and Development Agency in 2007 as part of the National Graduate Development Programme. In 2009, they moved to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham as a Principal Policy, Performance, and Research Officer in Children's Services. From 2013 to 2015, Lucy worked at the London Borough of Camden as a Strategy and Development Manager, specifically focusing on safeguarding children. In 2015, they became the Head of Strategy and Performance (Strategic Lead) at the same organization. Later, they transitioned to the role of Strategic Commissioner - Health and Care Integration from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, Lucy worked as a Governance Adviser for the Ministry of State in Liberia at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change in 2018. Lucy is currently employed at WaterAid as a Global Strategy and Transformation Manager, a position they have held since October 2018.

Lucy Flaws attended The University of Sheffield and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Studies.
