Waterdoor Research is an independent policy research initiative focused on the systematic analysis of state policy and its real-world consequences for citizens and public institutions. The firm examines how government decisions translate into everyday economic, social, and civic outcomes, with particular attention to implementation, incentives, and unintended effects.

Waterdoor Research adopts a non-partisan, evidence-based approach. Its work draws on public data, government reports, legal and regulatory texts, and established methods of policy and economic analysis. The objective is not advocacy, but clarity—identifying where policy outcomes align with stated goals and where gaps emerge in practice.

The firm’s research spans areas including public economics and welfare, regulation and compliance, governance and state capacity, and the interaction between policy and citizens’ access to services. While internationally positioned, Waterdoor Research maintains a primary research focus on India.

Waterdoor Research aims to serve policymakers, journalists, researchers, and legal professionals seeking rigorous, independent analysis of governance and public policy outcomes.
