Nick Harrison

Nick Harrison has a diverse work experience in learning and development roles. Nick has worked as a Group Learning & Development Director at Waterman Group since August 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Group Learning & Development Manager at the same company from June 2017 to August 2021.

Before joining Waterman Group, Nick worked as a freelance Learning & Development Consultant for Need for Achievement from July 2014 to June 2017. In this role, they were involved in various L&D projects, including learning intervention delivery and design, L&D website development, and account management.

Nick also gained experience as a Learning & Development Business Partner at VolkerWessels UK on an interim contract from January 2016 to June 2016, and as a Learning & Development Manager at Wates Group on an interim contract from January 2015 to July 2015.

In addition, they worked as a Learning & Development Business Partner at Elekta from November 2013 to July 2014, where they successfully developed the L&D offering and conducted full training needs analysis.

Earlier in their career, Nick held the position of Learning & Development Manager/Specialist at Balfour Beatty Major Civil Engineering (2009-2012) and Balfour Beatty Construction Services UK (2013), where they managed the Leadership, Management & Personal Effectiveness L&D offering. Nick also worked as a Learning & Development Specialist at Black & Veatch from 2008 to 2009, and as a Senior Training Advisor at Atkins from 2005 to 2008.

Nick's early work experience includes roles as a Training Consultant at Newchurch Ltd from 2004 to 2005 and as an Account Manager at Capita Learning & Development from 2002 to 2004. In these positions, they focused on designing and delivering training programs and identifying bespoke learning solutions for clients.

Nick Harrison has a Diploma in Performance Coaching (Business) from Newcastle College. Nick also has an NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service from Link Training. In addition, Nick holds several certifications, including being a Chartered Manager from the Chartered Management Institute, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Myers Briggs MBTI Psychometric Practitioner from OPP, a Level A & B Psychometric Assessor from The British Psychological Society, and an NVQ Assessor D32/D33 from Newcastle College.
