Ruth Bateman

Ruth Bateman is a seasoned public health professional with extensive experience in public health engineering. Currently serving as a Public Health Associate and previously holding titles such as Principal Public Health Engineer and Senior Public Health Engineer at Waterman Group since December 2017, Ruth has demonstrated expertise in various aspects of public health design, including water services and drainage systems. Ruth also chaired the SoPHE YEN from September 2015 to June 2019, playing a pivotal role in establishing a youth network within the Society of Public Health Engineers. Prior experience includes roles at AECOM, where Ruth contributed significantly as a Public Health Engineer and Graduate Engineer, and short-term placements at Couch Perry & Wilkes LLP, EvoEnergy, and Ecovision Energy Solutions, focusing on renewable technologies and sustainable design practices. Ruth holds a Master of Engineering degree in Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of Nottingham.
