Roeland Jimenez

Roeland Jimenez has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry spanning over two decades. Roeland began their career at Campagne Communicatie, where they set up the internet department and integrated internet services into client businesses. Roeland then co-founded NetMatch, a travel software specialist, where they served as a lead developer creating customer systems. Roeland later joined Moonshake Technologies, developing software for start-up companies integrating online technologies. At Effectory, Roeland worked as a senior .Net software architect and developer, focusing on upscaling and fast delivery of a production system. Roeland then joined Wortell as a senior lead developer and application architect, assisting organizations with implementing Microsoft technologies.

In 2014, Roeland joined Microsoft's Enterprise Communications Global Practice as a solution architect and application developer, playing a crucial role in accelerating adoption of Microsoft Lync and Skype for Business. Roeland subsequently worked as a technology lead (CTO) on a freelance basis for the Think Forward Initiative, guiding a team in creating an AI-powered solution for better financial decision-making.

Most recently, Roeland founded Wave5, a company dedicated to helping clients turn data into actionable insights by providing data platforms and tools within their existing working context. Roeland extracts, shapes, and serves data to different levels of organizations, enabling users to derive value based on their roles and needs. Prior to this, Roeland was the Chief Technology Officer at Periplus Group, leading the digital transformation of the Dutch company in offshore and renewable energy sectors, as well as the government. Roeland transformed Periplus' GIS application into a scalable platform for collaborative data management and actionable insights.

Throughout their career, Roeland has consistently demonstrated their expertise in solution architecture, software development, and driving digital transformation.

Roeland Jimenez completed a Bachelor's degree in Communications from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht) from 1993 to 1997. Prior to that, from 1992 to 1993, they attended European University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in BBA with a focus on PR & Communications. In 2013, Roeland obtained a certification as a Xamarin Certified Mobile Developer from Xamarin.
