Justin Chan has had a diverse work experience. In 2018, they became a Co-Founder of Wavely Diagnostics, a company that is focused on making pediatric healthcare more accessible. From 2016-2018, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington, where they worked on computational and mobile health, smart materials, and wireless sensing. From 2015-2016, they were a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft, where they cut system delay by 80% and owned manageability, failover, backup, and cluster-wide upgrades of network switches. Justin also mentored a new engineer. In 2014, they were a Software Development Engineer Intern at Microsoft.
Justin Chan began their educational journey at High School where they obtained an IB Diploma in 2012. Justin then attended Dartmouth College from 2012 to 2015, where they earned an A.B. in Computer Science (High Honors), Digital Arts. In 2016, they enrolled at the University of Washington and earned a Master of Science in Computer Science & Engineering in 2018. Justin is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
