Mendel Kaelen

Founder and CEO at Wavepaths

Mendel Kaelen has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Mendel is the Founder and CEO of Wavepaths since December 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London from December 2016 to May 2018. Mendel also has experience as a PhD Researcher at Imperial College London, where they investigated brain mechanisms and effects of psychedelic drugs on music perception and emotion. Mendel was also involved in qualitative research to develop the therapeutic use of music in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy for depression. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at Imperial College London from 2012 to 2013. Mendel Kaelen was also a member of the LD11 cohort at Entrepreneur First, a company that brings together exceptional individuals to build startups, from October to November 2018.

Mendel Kaelen completed their education in a progressive manner, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of Groningen between 2004 and 2008. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Neuroscience at the same institution from 2009 to 2012. Finally, they went on to achieve a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroscience from Imperial College London, where they studied between 2013 and 2017.
