Ryan Maunu

Ryan Maunu is a seasoned professional in machine learning with a strong background in research and leadership roles. Currently serving as a Senior ML Manager at Wayfair since May 2017, Ryan leads a team focused on developing and deploying multimodal representation models. Previous roles at Wayfair include ML Manager, overseeing the transformation of matching algorithms, and ML Scientist, where Ryan developed production pipelines for product matching. Earlier experience includes a Health Data Fellow position at Insight Data Science, where predictive models for stroke risk were created, and research assistant roles at the University of Maryland, where Ryan contributed to groundbreaking research using machine learning for particle physics and medical diagnostics. Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Physics, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota.
