Usman Raza

Usman Raza has a strong background in research and technology, with their most recent role being the Head of Technology / Product Lead at Waymap, starting in August 2021. Prior to that, they held various positions at Toshiba Europe Limited, including Principal Research Engineer, Senior Research Engineer, and Research Engineer, from September 2015 to August 2021. Usman also worked as a Research Fellow at Università degli Studi di Trento from May 2015 to October 2015, and as a Research Associate at Fondazione Bruno Kessler - FBK from December 2009 to April 2015. Usman has experience in academia as well, serving as an Endeavour Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales from July 2008 to January 2009 and as a Teaching Assistant at Lahore University of Management Sciences from September 2007 to December 2007. Usman also conducted a research internship at LaBRI, Bordeaux, France from December 2006 to March 2007. Earlier in their career, Usman worked as a Software Quality Engineer at Techlogix in 2005 and as a Teaching Assistant (Software Engineering) at FAST-NUCES from January 2004 to May 2004.

Usman Raza's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Wireless Sensor Networks from Università di Trento, which they obtained from 2010 to 2015. Their thesis focused on the transition from energy-efficient to energy-neutral wireless sensor networks. Prior to that, they completed an International Practicum Programme in Wireless Communication at UNSW from 2008 to 2009.

In 2005, Usman Raza earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences. Usman pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences from 2000 to 2004.

Before entering the university, Usman Raza completed their Pre-Engineering education from Lawrence College, Ghora Ghalli, Murree, from 1998 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Usman Raza has also obtained several certifications from LinkedIn in various areas of product management, scrum, technical product management, and project management.
