Alex Baucom is a skilled software engineer with extensive experience in robotics and autonomous systems. Currently employed at Waymo since April 2020, Alex focuses on behavior development for autonomous vehicles. Previously, Alex worked as a robotics engineer at Cobalt Robotics, where responsibilities included designing and testing algorithms for autonomous mobile robots and improving software processes. At Intuitive Surgical, Alex served as a robotic algorithms and control engineer, developing embedded software for robotically-assisted surgical instruments. Early experience includes roles at the University of Pennsylvania as a Robocup research assistant and various internships, where Alex honed skills in engineering design and analysis.
