Amjad Obeidat

Amjad Obeidat, Ph.D., is a seasoned engineering leader specializing in hardware engineering and systems design, currently serving as the head of Sensing & Perception Systems Engineering at Waymo since October 2023. Prior to this role, Amjad was the Director of Hardware Engineering at Airbnb, where responsibilities included defining strategies for consumer electronics and expanding team capabilities. Amjad’s extensive experience encompasses leadership roles at Meta, Fitbit, Amazon Lab126, and Apple, particularly in delivering high-quality consumer electronics and managing multidisciplinary teams. With a strong background in analog and mixed-signal circuit design, Amjad has held significant engineering positions at National Semiconductor and contributed to advanced technology development during a postdoctoral fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University, where a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering was earned.
