Banu Dost

Banu Dost is a seasoned technical lead with extensive experience in machine learning infrastructure and cloud API technologies. Currently serving as Technical Lead for the ML Data Infrastructure team at Waymo since April 2020, Banu oversees the storage, indexing, processing, and extraction of machine learning datasets. Previously at Google from October 2010 to April 2020, Banu led multiple teams, including those focused on the Apigee API Platform and Google Display Ads, where initiatives included rebuilding serving infrastructures for reliability and managing dynamic ad pipelines. Banu's early career includes research in bioinformatics during a Post Doctoral Associate position at UCSD and various software engineering roles, complemented by a PhD in Computer Science with a specialization in Bioinformatics from UC San Diego and a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from Sabanci University.
