Brandon Luders

Engineering Director, High-level Motion Planning

Brandon Luders is an experienced engineering leader with a focus on high-level motion planning technology for autonomous vehicles, currently serving as Engineering Director at Waymo since April 2014. Previously, Brandon held several software engineering roles at Waymo, with responsibilities spanning from software engineering to team leadership. Prior to Waymo, Brandon was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in real-time algorithms for path planning in mobile robots, and also contributed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in control systems. Brandon's academic credentials include a Ph.D. and M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT, as well as a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, supplemented by teaching assistance experience in calculus courses.
