David Wong

David Wong is a seasoned machine learning engineer with extensive experience in high-impact roles across leading tech companies. Currently serving as a Senior Staff ML Engineer and Tech Lead Manager at Waymo since February 2021, David leads a team of over 20 professionals in utilizing advanced machine learning techniques to create realistic driving simulations. Previously, at DeepMind from February 2017 to February 2021, David contributed to applied machine learning projects that impacted billions of users across Google services such as Play, YouTube, Assistant, and Maps. David also held positions at Google from September 2014 to February 2017, focusing on state-of-the-art machine learning research and technology, as well as at Microsoft from January 2011 to July 2014, where influence was exerted on partner teams regarding performance issues. David's career began as a Software Engineer at Orora Design Technologies from July 2008 to December 2010. David holds a Master of Applied Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
