Halbert Tam

Halbert Tam is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & HW Reliability Lead at Waymo since March 2020. Previously, Halbert held the position of Director of Engineering at Alta Devices from October 2011 to March 2020, where leadership was provided to a diverse team of 30 engineers and managers in manufacturing engineering, achieving record-breaking solar cell and module production. Additional experience includes various engineering roles at Solyndra, JSR Micro Inc., and Applied Materials, with a focus on systems, process engineering, and CMP business management. Halbert Tam holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a graduate of Lowell High School.
