Hector Yee is a seasoned Staff Software Engineer with extensive experience in machine learning and data engineering. Currently at Waymo since August 2025, Hector focuses on machine learning applications. Previously, Hector served as a Staff Software Engineer at Google from December 2019 to August 2025, leading research and contributing to projects related to population dynamics, public health, MLOps at Tidal, and anomaly detection with TensorFlow. In addition, Hector was the technical lead for Project Tidal, concentrating on data engineering and computer vision applications. Prior to Google, Hector was at X, the moonshot factory, from December 2021 to May 2023, where responsibilities included strategy development and collaboration with project managers and engineers. Earlier roles included Technical Advisor at Utopos Games and AI/ML Consultant at Resonant Intelligence, LLC, specializing in data utilization and machine learning model deployment. Hector holds a Master’s degree in Architectural Science (Computer Graphics) and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Cornell University.
