Khaled S. Refaat

Khaled S. Refaat is a highly experienced professional in the fields of computer science and engineering, currently serving as a Senior Staff Research Scientist and Tech Lead Manager at Waymo since June 2015. Prior to this role, Khaled worked as a Machine Learning & Robotics Researcher for self-driving cars at X, the moonshot factory, from June 2015 to December 2016, and held multiple research and engineering internships at Google between 2011 and 2014. Khaled's early career included a position as an R&D Engineer at IBM and a research internship at LAAS-CNRS. Khaled holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from UCLA, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Cairo University.
