Qichi Yang

Qichi Yang is a Staff Software Engineer at Waymo, specializing in Perception and Scene Understanding since November 2017. Prior to that, Qichi worked as a Software Engineer at Google from June 2015 to November 2017, focusing on Local Place Recommendation at Map. Qichi's experience also includes a position at Yelp, where Qichi was involved in ads targeting, CTR prediction, and model training pipelines from December 2013 to May 2015. Initial industry exposure began with an internship at Amazon in June 2012, contributing to a file transfer service and implementing algorithms for large data streams. Qichi’s earlier internship at Sensys Networks, Inc. in the summer of 2011 involved building a data analysis system for urban traffic patterns. Educationally, Qichi earned a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of California, Riverside, following a Bachelor's degree in the same field from Southeast University.
