Rui Yan

Rui Yan is a software engineer at Waymo, specializing in the perception/semantics team since February 2020. Prior experience includes a role as a research collaborator at Facebook Reality Lab, focusing on a capstone project with Carnegie Mellon University, and as a software engineer intern on the feed and stories recommendation machine learning team. Rui also gained experience as a research intern at MEGVII, working under Dr. Xiangyu Zhang, and served as a research assistant at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology under Professor Chi Keung Tang. Additionally, Rui completed an internship in the visual computing group at Microsoft under Dr. Jifeng Dai. Rui holds a Master of Science in Computer Vision from Carnegie Mellon University (2018-2019) and a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (2014-2018).
