Ryan McNamara

Ryan McNamara is Vice President of Operations at Waymo, an autonomous driving technology company with a mission to make it safe and easy for people and things to get where they’re going.

In his role, Ryan ensures that Waymo’s operations position the company for safe, scalable, and cost-effective growth. He leads his team to sustainably deliver customer experiences, drives key company effectiveness initiatives, and develops processes that optimize for organizational efficiency.

Following a 10-year career as a Navy pilot, Ryan has been a leader in tech for 13 years holding a variety of operating roles at Apple, Nest, and Google. He was formerly the Product Ops Lead on iPhone, and managed operational transitions when acquired into Google by way of Nest. Operationally, Ryan has always sought growth and has experience leading through significant business and organizational change.

Ryan holds a BS from Fordham University, an MBA from Duke University, and is a decorated combat veteran.
