Si Chen

Si Chen is a highly experienced software engineer with a robust background in autonomous driving, search infrastructure, and graphics driver development. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Waymo since 2018, Si Chen organizes vast amounts of autonomous driving data for accessibility. Prior to Waymo, Si Chen worked at Google from 2014 to 2018, contributing to search infrastructure and mobile app content indexing, and earned two patents. At VMware, from 2011 to 2014, Si Chen specialized in GPU virtualization and filed two additional patents. Early career roles included software engineering positions at Pattern Insight and AMD, where team leadership and software driver development were key responsibilities. Si Chen holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from UCLA and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Zhejiang University.
