Simon Ellgas is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in thermal engineering, aerodynamics, and system integration. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer at Waymo since February 2017, Simon leads teams focused on Thermal Engineering, Aerodynamics, and Cleaning System Integration. Prior to this role, Simon worked at Google as a Senior Engineer on the Google [x] Self Driving Car project and held senior engineering positions at BMW of North America and BMW, where responsibilities included sustainable mobility and project management. Simon holds a Diploma in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, obtained from 1998 to 2004.
