Tom Schuerlein

Tom Schuerlein is an accomplished professional in the field of failure analysis with extensive experience in various leadership roles across multiple companies. Currently serving as the Failure Analysis Lead at Waymo since July 2019, Tom is pioneering the establishment of a new Failure Analysis Laboratory. Previously, Tom held the position of Sr. Director of Failure Analysis at ENOVIX Corp., where responsibilities included managing the Failure Analysis group for a startup focused on innovative battery technology. Tom's career also encompasses significant roles at Evans Analytical Group as Vice President of Advanced Imaging, where advanced analytical services were provided, and at Hewlett-Packard as an Engineering Manager overseeing multiple analytical labs. Early in Tom's career, a position as a Scientist at Charles Evans & Associates included performing surface analysis on various industrial materials. Tom earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Arizona, complementing a solid educational foundation from Plainedge High School.
