Val K. is a principal and staff software engineer specializing in cloud machine learning distributed services, with over 20 years of expertise in software development. Currently employed at Waymo, Val is focused on enhancing the performance of the onboard perception pipeline for autonomous vehicles. Previously, Val excelled at Microsoft, where significant achievements included leading a redesign of an image classification service and implementing low-cost machine learning models. Val also worked at Google and has experience in startups, while concurrently pursuing a Master of Science in Physics at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
