Yang Zhang

Yang Zhang is a Senior Software Engineer at Waymo, focusing on perception challenges in autonomous driving since January 2021. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at Alibaba Group from October 2019 to December 2020, concentrating on visual recognition of extensive real-world data. Yang Zhang also held research internships at Tencent and Siemens Healthineers, along with a position as a Journeyman Research Fellow at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory in 2016. Yang Zhang earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida in 2020 and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Communication Engineering from Chongqing University of Post and Telecommunications in 2013.
