Sean Joyce

Sean Joyce is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering leadership and product development. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Waystar since September 2021, Sean leads the engineering teams and previously held the role of Vice President of Engineering, overseeing the payment engineering teams post-acquisition of Patientco. Prior to Waystar, Sean was the Chief Technology Officer at Patientco, focusing on healthcare payment technology and infrastructure. Sean's background also includes notable positions at ADP TotalSource, where as Director of Application Development, Sean led product engineering for a benefits business, and at ADP, where Sean managed systems development and contributed to the Workforce Now product’s success. Sean began the career as a Software Engineer at WageWorks and Employease, building essential systems in human capital management. Sean holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Emory University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Eastern Michigan University.
