Eric Barbier

Head of Safety at Wayve

Eric Barbier is the current Head of Safety at Wayve. Eric has over 5 years of experience in Functional Safety, specifically in ISO26262. Prior to joining Wayve, they worked as a Technical Specialist at FEV GmbH from November 2014 to August 2016. In this role, they were responsible for project management from a functional safety perspective, team development, and customer interface. From September 2016 to September 2019, they worked as a Global Technical Expert at Ricardo. In this role, they were responsible for following technological trends, promoting Ricardo's capabilities worldwide, and contributing to the Functional Safety community.

Eric Barbier has a postgraduate diploma in Safety Critical Systems Engineering from the University of York, UK. Eric also has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electronics and Applied Software from ENSSAT. Eric is certified by Coursera in Reinforcement Learning Specialization and Deep Learning Specialization. Eric is also certified by DeepLearning.AI in Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, and Neural Networks and Deep Learning. In addition, Eric has a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera and is a Chartered Engineer from The Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Eric Barbier reports to Alex Kendall, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Kaity Fischer - Director, Business Development and Partnerships, Dan McCloskey - VP, Hardware, and Rudi Rankin - Head of Marketing.
