David Short is currently serving as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Secretariat at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development since October 2023, focusing on strategic initiatives in governance and engagement. Previously, as Principal Consultant at David Short Sustainability Consulting from May to September 2023, David worked on projects related to regenerative agriculture and carbon valuation. David held the position of Director, Strategy & Partnerships at SustainCERT from February 2022 to January 2023, overseeing the Value Change Initiative's market-based accounting programs. Before that, David was a Senior Environmental & Social Manager at IDH - The Sustainable Trade Initiative, managing a €100 million blended finance fund from February 2020 to January 2022. David’s earlier experience includes consulting roles in sustainable value chains and certification processes at Aidenvironment and UTZ Certified, among others. Educational qualifications include a Master's in International Relations and a Master's in Development Studies, complementing a BA in Business Administration with a focus on International Business and Finance.
