Charles J. Hendrix

VP, Member Engagement at WBENC

After a 32-year career in the automotive industry, Charles (Chuck) Hendrix joined the WBENC team in 2021 as the VP of Member Engagement where his primary responsibility is to establish strategic relationships with executives at corporate and government member organizations and assist in developing and leading programs that meet their organizational objectives to engage women business enterprises.

Prior to joining WBENC, Mr. Hendrix retired from Toyota Motor North America after a distinguished 25-year career where he served in various managerial capacities including leading Toyota’s award-winning Supplier Diversity program which included over $3B in direct annual spending with diverse and women-owned businesses and an additional $1B in Tier 2 spending. In addition to other various leadership roles within procurement, Mr. Hendrix also served as a Corporate Diversity Manager where he was responsible for advancing Toyota’s overall diversity initiatives as well as serving on Toyota’s African American Collaborative’s North American Advisory Council which seeks to develop strategies and guidance for the affinity group. Mr. Hendrix has also served on several WBENC and NMSDC boards that focus on the growth and development of women and minority-owned businesses. Prior to Toyota, Hendrix worked at Honda of America Manufacturing where he was the Purchasing Assistant Manager for plastics and interior component parts.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Hendrix is a graduate of Idaho State University where he earned his B.B.A degree in Management & Organization.
