Deb Becker is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in broadcasting and news reporting. Currently serving as a Senior Correspondent and Host at WBUR since April 1998, Becker focuses on criminal justice, mental health, and substance use disorders, contributing to various award-winning journalism initiatives. Prior to this role, Becker worked as a writer at WBZ-AM and held various positions at notable organizations such as The Christian Science Monitor, WHDH Radio, WORC-AM, Worcester Telegram & Gazette, WXLO - Citadel Communications, and WEEI. Becker holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Boston University and St. Bonaventure University.
