We Make Realms (WMR) is the engine, meeting place, and megaphone for Umeå’s games industry. We gather our entire ecosystem - from developers and artists to entrepreneurs and students - under one identity to create global visibility and local pride.

We forge our own path with a mix of northern persistence, creative bravery, and integrity. It is the unique combination of art, technology, and storytelling that makes our position strong.

As a central hub for the community, we are the organizers of the Umeå Game Conference, a global arena where networks, knowledge, and collaboration grow. This year alone, the conference hosted 26 different nationalities, proving that our movement is a truly international node. We actively bridge the gap between studios and the global market by bringing in investors and publishers to help creators secure the capital and partnerships they need to scale.

Whether you’re a senior developer or a student with a dream, we believe in Community First. We win when more people get to play the lead role.

We make realms beyond play. From the North, for the world.
