Jair Basso

Jair Basso has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jair is currently working as the VP of Security at Wealth since September 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Security Engineering at Emailage, a LexisNexis Risk Solutions Company, from January 2021 to September 2021.

Before joining Emailage, Jair held various positions at Emailage, where they worked from 2014 to 2020. Jair served as the Director of Infrastructure & Operations from February 2018 to December 2020. Prior to that, they were the Infrastructure and Security Manager from November 2016 to February 2018. During their tenure, they managed data centers across North America, Europe, and cloud-based platforms like AWS and Azure. Jair provided leadership to the infrastructure and information security teams and utilized Splunk Enterprise as a log repository and SIEM solution. Jair also developed custom dashboards and alerts to streamline troubleshooting processes.

Before joining Emailage, Jair worked at Fundação Cesp as a Senior Support and Information Security Analyst from June 2012 to November 2014. Their responsibilities included developing security policies, managing server patching, and handling Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls. Jair conducted penetration tests and played a role in OS hardening. Jair also contributed to the development of a Business Continuity Plan.

Prior to Fundação Cesp, Jair worked at Uninove as a Senior IT Support Analyst from April 2006 to May 2012. Jair administered Cisco and Enterasys devices, managed a wide area network (WAN) connecting five buildings, and implemented wireless solutions.

Jair also gained experience at Hewlett-Packard, where they worked as a Senior Technical Support Analyst from July 2004 to May 2006. In this role, they supported the web infrastructure of various companies, including Editora Abril S/A, Promon Engenharia, NET, and Vale do Rio Doce. Jair managed web servers, Java application servers, and performed web security analysis.

Earlier in their career, Jair worked at Editora Abril as an IT Support Analyst from November 2001 to July 2004. During this time, they administered a large web farm, including Apache and IIS web servers, and managed JBoss, Tomcat, and WebSphere application servers. Jair was responsible for optimizing web performance and enhancing security.

Before joining Editora Abril, Jair worked at Vento as a Web Analyst from June 2001 to October 2001. Their responsibilities included server administration for IIS and Apache, as well as managing Windows and Linux servers.

Jair's early work experience includes roles at Durand do Brasil as an Information Security Analyst and Network Administrator from December 2000 to June 2001, and at MyWeb do Brasil as a Network Administrator from August 2000 to November 2000. In these roles, they conducted server administration, managed internet services, and oversaw various IT operations.

Jair Basso graduated in Information Security Management from IBTA in 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Paulista between 2001 and 2004. Additionally, Jair has obtained several certifications including Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in September 2020, Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge v4 (CCSK) from Cloud Security Alliance in August 2020, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) from Red Hat in June 2014, LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 from the Linux Professional Institute (with the exact date of obtainment unknown), VMware Certified Associate - Cloud (VCA-Cloud) and VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCA-DCV) from VMware (with the exact dates of obtainment unknown).
