Lawrence Black

Lawrence Black is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and placemaking, currently serving as Principal at Civic Holdings since February 2011. As a Founding Member at NextGen Venture Partners, Lawrence supports seed-stage companies through substantial investments and guidance from prominent industry figures. Additionally, as Managing Director at Mindful Ventures, Lawrence has co-founded and invested in over 50 startups, focusing on specialty coffee ventures. Lawrence also contributes as a Venture Partner at WealthForge, streamlining private capital raising processes, and holds board positions with various organizations, including the Greenville Revitalization Corporation and the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority. Education credentials include a Master's in Real Estate Development from Clemson University and a Master’s in Liberal Arts from St. John's College.
