Jacob Preston

Jacob Preston has a diverse background in software engineering and has worked in various roles throughout their career. Jacob began their career as a Hedge Fund Analyst at Mercer Partners in 2011 before moving on to become a Junior Android Engineer at OUYA, Inc. in 2013. In 2014, they joined Leeo as an Android/iOS Software Engineer, where they played a leading role in structuring the software architecture of the app. Jacob also contributed to the development of Leeo's iOS application.

In 2015, Jacob joined Fitbit as a Lead Android Software Engineer, where they worked on the Fitbit communication stack and implemented several core features, including Friend Finder and Corporate Wellness Race. Jacob also led the Fitbit social tools team and restructured the app's analytics reporting system.

Most recently, Jacob has been working at Wealthfront since 2018 as a Staff Software Engineer. In their current role, they are the Area Engineering Lead and backend engineer for investing products. Jacob also previously held the position of Android Engineer, working on Automated Savings, Banking, and Financial Planning.

In addition to their professional experience, Jacob served as an E-Board Director for Tech@NYU from 2012 to 2014 and worked as a summer camp counselor at Wildwood Hills Ranch from 2009 to 2012.

From 2010 to 2014, Jacob Preston attended NYU Stern School of Business, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. During their time at NYU, Jacob focused their studies in the fields of Computer Science, Finance, and Physics.
