Patrick Yoon

Patrick Yoon's work experience begins in 2009 as a Student Research Assistant at the Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter, where they participated in breast cancer data reconstruction research. In 2010, they worked as a Student Programmer at the Linguistic Data Consortium, improving GUI test tools and developing web versions of annotation tools. Patrick then interned at Google in 2011, developing an internal framework and implementing a new search ad format. That same year, they also became a Teaching Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania for two different courses. In 2012, Patrick co-founded Emerald, a service for taking in-class exams digitally. Patrick also interned as a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft, building a classifier for query intent. In 2013, they continued as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania and also worked as a Software Engineer at TellApart, developing an ad campaign management tool. From 2014 to 2016, Patrick worked at Airbnb as a Software Engineer, leading projects for guest growth and email delivery. Patrick then became a Senior Software Engineer at Airbnb in 2017, leading the development of a Jupyter notebook platform, a Docker image framework, and an online serving stack for Zipline. Most recently, in 2023, Patrick became a Senior Software Engineer at WeaveGrid.

Patrick Yoon completed their high school education at Korea Science Academy from 2005 to 2008. Patrick then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2012. After completing their undergraduate studies, Patrick Yoon continued their education at the University of Pennsylvania, where they earned a Master of Science in Engineering degree in Computer Science from 2012 to 2013.
