Michelle Cortez

Michelle Cortez, MPAcc, is an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in tax services and financial reporting. Currently serving as a Supervisor at Weaver since March 2021, Michelle has progressed through various roles including Senior Tax Associate and Associate II in Tax Services. Prior experience includes a position as Staff Accountant at Killam Oil Company, where responsibilities encompassed closing monthly books and preparing financial statements for diverse properties. Michelle also worked at Mario Gonzalez, CPA PC, analyzing client transactions and identifying tax issues, and held a role at Gonzalez & Costilla, CPAs, preparing income and estate tax returns. Additional experience includes bookkeeping at Serving Children and Adults in Need. Michelle holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Texas A&M International University.
