Web-Don, Inc.
Web-Don, Inc. originally took off in Charlotte, NC, in 1972, as a Wilsonart distributor. Neighbors Webster Collett and Don Smith first owned and operated C & S Distributors. Buck McQuay joined the men in '72 with a $20,000 loan that he had taken out. McQuay bought out his partners eventually, and is the sole owner of Web-Don today. Within a few years, Web-Don, Inc., had added other manufacturers, and locations in Winston and Raleigh. Out of its 100+ employees, 30% have been with the company ten years or more. The company stresses promotion from within and a comfortable working environment. With such outstanding leadership, it's easy to see why expansion has been on the rise. There are now Web-Don, Inc., locations in Columbia, SC, Johnson City, TN, and Wilmington, NC. A new 60,000+ sq. ft. headquarters in Charlotte was built to accommodate growing business with the company's 4,000 plus customer base. Web-Don, Inc., attributes its growth to outdoing competitors in two major areas: carrying a full product line from its vendors and maintaining aggressive levels of inventory. The company has high hopes for the future, including expansion throughout the southeast where deliveries can be made quickly and productively with minimum lead times. Most of all, though, Web-Don, Inc. strives to maintain the family values and the small business style of loyalty and camaraderie that helped it survive; and that has enabled us to achieve a true pinnacle of success and staying power.
