Mark Burstein has extensive work experience in the compliance and financial industry. Mark is currently serving as the Vice President, Compliance & Fair Lending Officer at WebBank since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Senior Compliance Manager, Strategic Partnerships at WebBank from February 2021 to February 2022.
Before joining WebBank, Mark worked at Rabobank from 2016 to 2020. Mark held positions such as Executive Director, Head Wholesale Banking Compliance Advisory & Chief Ethics Officer North America from November 2017 to August 2020, and Executive Director & Head of Core Compliance, Wholesale Banking North America from January 2016 to November 2017.
From 2014 to 2015, Mark worked as a Senior Principal at Promontory Financial Group, LLC. Prior to that, they held various positions at CIT from 2010 to 2014, including Director, Head of Compliance Corporate Center & Global Anti-Bribery & Corruption Officer.
Before their tenure at CIT, Mark worked at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. from 2001 to 2008, serving in roles such as Director, Group Compliance and Vice President, Group Compliance.
Mark Burstein began their career as a Law Clerk at the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York in 2000, where they worked in the Affirmative Litigation Section.
Mark Burstein attended Cardozo School of Law and earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. Mark also studied at the University of Michigan where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature, General. Additionally, Mark Burstein attended the University of Oxford, specifically St. Peter's College, where they focused on History and Literature.
