Chris Needham

Director

Chris Needham is a seasoned software engineer and technical leader with over 25 years of experience in various sectors, including medical devices, defense, and internet media. Since 2008, they have served as a Principal Software Engineer at BBC Research and Development, focusing on audio and video media for web applications. Chris is currently the Director at W3C and actively participates in web standards as chair of multiple working groups. They hold a first-class honors BEng in Electroacoustics from The University of Salford, which they completed in 1995.
