Michael Gower

Michael Gower has extensive experience in accessibility and web content guidelines, currently serving as a Co Facilitator for the WCAG 2 Task Force at W3C since January 2015, focusing on the resilience of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. As a member of the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group, responsibility includes developing guidelines to enhance web accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, Michael has been a Senior Consultant in Accessibility at IBM since 2003, instrumental in creating the IBM Equal Access Toolkit. Previous roles include Accessibility Advisory Specialist and IT Advisory Specialist at the Equipment and Assistive Technology Initiative, and Systems Administrator at Price Waterhouse Management Consultants, with an educational background in Creative Writing from the University of Victoria.
