Shawn Henry is the Director of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) at W3C, a position they currently hold since 2025. Previously, Shawn served as Accessibility Education and Outreach Lead at W3C and as a Lead Researcher and Low Vision Accessibility Advocate for the TAdER Project from 2012 to 2023. With an extensive background as an Accessibility Educator at uiAccess.com from 2001 to 2023 and as a Usability/User Experience Specialist and Technical Writer for various organizations since 1994, Shawn is deeply invested in promoting accessibility and inclusivity in technology. Shawn is also pursuing an MSc in Digital Inclusion.
