Martin Cross has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Martin started their career at Allied Telesis in 1994, where they held various roles and gained experience in regional management, vertical markets, and new routes to market. In 1996, they joined Nortel, a leading telecommunications technology manufacturer, and focused on developing the Managed Services business for multinational businesses. In 2002, they founded Rapport Professional Services, a successful consultancy specializing in project implementations and managed services solutions. Rapport was eventually acquired by Connect Communications, where Martin became a Director and Co-owner. During their time at Connect, they played a key role in transforming the company into a dynamic and successful business, serving multinational clients in the managed services sector. Martin later became the CTO of Connect Managed Services and ultimately took on the role of Group Chief Strategy Officer before transitioning to their current position as Group CTO at Connect.

Martin Cross attended Magdalen College School in Oxford from 1982 to 1989. Martin then went on to study at the University of Oxford from 1989 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. Additionally, during the same time period, they also studied at Jesus College Oxford and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
