Andrejs Kostromins

Andrejs Kostromins has a diverse work experience. Andrejs is currently working as the CTO (Software) and co-founder at WeedBot since March 2020. Before that, they worked at QBit as a Software Engineer starting from March 2017. At QBit, they were involved in the development of eATOC, utilizing technologies such as Angular, QGIS, .NET Core, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS.

Prior to QBit, Andrejs worked as a Scientific Researcher at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies from February 2019 to December 2021. Andrejs'srole involved conducting research for a project funded by "The Rural Support Service of Republic of Latvia," where they focused on literature analysis and designing robotic arm and laser control software for laboratory experiments related to precision weeding.

From November 2012 to March 2017, Andrejs served as the Leading Software Engineer at UAV Factory. Andrejs was responsible for developing the "CoPilot" UAV control and assistance software, as well as the UAV black box decoding software.

Prior to that, from March 2010 to November 2012, Andrejs worked as a Researcher and Software Engineer at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies for a project funded by ESF. During this time, they worked on developing two software extensions, AltFluxes and Paint4Net, for the COBRA Toolbox, used for flux variability analysis and visualization of stoichiometric models of metabolism.

Earlier in their career, Andrejs worked briefly as a Builder at SIA "Remonts K" in June-July 2007.

Andrejs Kostromins earned a Bachelor of Science Engineering in Information Technology from Latvia University of Agriculture, specializing in Computer Control and Computer Science. Andrejs then went on to obtain a Master of Science Engineering in Information Technology from the same institution, with a focus on Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation Engineering, Robot Localization, and Information Technology.
